Toby started investing in residential real estate in the early 90s in London. The local market was just coming out of the biggest slump in living memory and it took targeted and well thought out investing to feel secure. The market has since doubled or tripled.

Next came Colorado land. After vacationing in Aspen and finding prices already out of his budget range he decided for a large tract of 300 acres 12 miles from Breckenridge. His plans are to develop the land in an envirounmentaly friendly way with access to alternative energy sources but with all luxury amenities that make life so enjoyable.

Toby is in the process of finding the right home for him and his wife in Aspen.

Toby's first exposure to the financial market was a stock certificate given to him when he was 12 years old. That got him started in following the markets and getting interested in learning about how the "money game" works.

Internships in the financial industry followed during his university degree. After graduate studies in the USA he joined a top 3 Bank in Germany to trade financial derivative products. He later joined CRT (Chicago Research and Trading) in London to trade interest rate options on the floor of the LIFFE (London International Financial Futures Exchange).

A stop in trading currency option was followed by a move to the just opening energy markets in Europe. At the time it seemed that Enron was a good choice. 4 years later Toby was a lot smarter than the "Smartest guys in the room" and even though he lost all is stock options by resigning he left the company 6 months before its demise.

Toby returned to Europe from Houston to act as trading manager for Essent, a Dutch utility company.

After registering the domain SkiRealEstate.com in 1998 in foresight of his desire to start working in real estate professionally Toby started working for one of the best companies in Aspen in 2005.
