How many homes should I look at before I buy?

You should extensively browse a website with comprehensive MLS listings and auxiliary real estate information like my site www.skirealestate.com . The more you understand the local real estate market the clearer it will become what your budget will allow you to own and what are you would like to purchase in.
If your Realtor has asked you the right questions and found out about your needs and wants prior to researching the market he will be able to narrow down the properties that are relevant to a select few. Sometimes the 3 first properties will encompass most of your needs and wants and all further showings would represent properties of lesser desirability. After the first few showings the quality of homes relative to your search criteria should go down and yo would find that it is not time wisely spent.
Focus on the first properties and let your realtor know if there is something missing. Criticizes a showing to your hearts content. The more I learn about what you like and what you don’t like the better I will be able to find the right property.
