How should I prepare for buying a home? |
So you decided to either buy Aspen real estate or real estate in Snowmass. A knowledgeable and informed buyer will be able to move with confidence and determination. How many times have you bought a car without reading about or looking at several different models. You are about to invest multiples of what a car cost. If you have the time browse the Multiple Listing Service for properties offered in your search area.
Know what you want. Make a list of all the Must Haves, Like to Haves and Do not Wants. What is it that you are looking for. Does it need to be close to skiing. Do you have children that you want to be in the Aspen School District. Are you looking for a home in a gated community. The list can be endless and the more you probe yourself the better you will be able to tell your Aspen REALTOR® what you are looking for. You get the drift...
If you will be financing a portion of your property pay attention to your credit score. Your mortgage lender will use your credit score as one part in his approval process. It is wise to not charge large purchases to a credit card or leave large unpaid balances on the card in the time running up to the mortgage pre-approval. If you have a perfect credit score, don’t worry too much, stay with your normal routine and you score will stay the same.
