What is Radon?

Radon is a radioactive odorless gas that occurs naturally in the ground. It is known to be present in wide areas of Colorado. Radon can seep into your house and get trapped indoors and expose humans to elevated levels of radioactivity.

Unless you test for Radon, there is no way of telling how much is present. Radon is the radioactive by product of a chain of decays of Uranium 238. Mineral rich soil has a higher likelihood of containing elements that lead to the creation of Radon gas. Radon 222 is the direct decay product of Radium 226.
