Who pays the fee of a buyer's agent?
|
A buyers agent receives the same compensation as a transaction broker would. The commission offered to the agent who bring the buyer to a transaction is pre-determined in the seller’s listing agreement with the listing agent. The buyer never pays a commission to the buyer’s agent unless otherwise agreed. It is the sellers commission that is split between the listing agent and the selling agent (= agent that represents the buyer).
As there is no cost in having your agent represent you as a buyer’s agent vs. a transaction broker you should take advantage of this expanded form of representation. You will be able to utilize the full knowledge and expertise in your real estate transaction when enlisting your agent as a buyer’s broker. |
